From 1993-1998 Porsche used the K27 on the 911/930/964/965 model Porsches.

Its also a popular retrofit for Porsche 911s going back as far as 1978.  

Rebuilding these units is a pretty straight forward operation.  We use an improved seal design that offers a better seal and longer life than the OEM units (this reduces any tailpipe oil smoke under a load to almost zero) and offers the ability to run the turbocharger harder and for longer periods of time without a threat of harming the oil seals.

The K27 employs a 52.40/76.00mm Compressor impeller.   A pretty large size for an under 4 liter engine (so lag is pretty obvious), so stepping up to our RAZOR billet impeller is a great move while you are getting the unit rebuilt.

Once again we have improved the design of the impeller over the OEM impeller and employed shapes we have developed for our racing turbocharger impellers for use in the RAZOR for the K27.

These new shapes and improved material design decrease spool up time and offers more power potential with less heat developed at the same or higher boost levels.

Description

All of our Porsche turbochargers are Ultra Sonically cleaned, inspected for cracks, signs of heat stress and then measured to be within the specs for assembly. Surfaces that require to be refinished/squared are performed on our In House CNC machines. All of our Porsche turbochargers are rebuilt using components that are at or above OEM quality. All of our Porsche turbochargers are Dual Plane Digitally/Computer balanced to ensure smooth operation and long life.

All rebuilds are completed using premium components and in many cases are upgraded to 360 degree thrust bearings.

All Turbochargers are Inspected for alignment, shafts are inspected for wear and run out.  Housings are inspected for cracks and surfaces are trued (on our own In House CNC Machines) if required.

Proper seals meeting or exceeding OEM specifications are installed.  Proper seal fitment is tested and verified.

The turbocharger is Dual Plane balanced.

After it passes Quality Control inspection, the Turbocharger is stamped with a Serial number that identifies its final specifications and all the parts installed in the rebuild and upgrade (if performed) are recorded to its history file.
