Did your 488 turbo go boom!!?? They do that AND we have the FIX! At PRO SYSTEMS TURBO we rebuild your stock VU21 & VU22 Ferrari 488 GTB turbos by rebuilding the ceramic ball bearing cartridges, replacing the billet compressor wheel, installing a new Inconel Shaft with turbine that typically fail from flexing and over-speeding. Once the bearing assembly has been replaced it is sent off for VSR balancing which tests the internals above OEM standards and 8,000 RPMs past the 488 Redline to ensure stability. While this is done we inspect all of your housing and buff out any imperfections from the turbine hitting the exhaust housing. Once your turbochargers have been rebuilt and passed final inspection we reseal them and get them back to you! From 1994-2005 Porsche used the K16 on the 911 model Porsches.
This was a good reliable turbocharger with long life expectancy and excellent performance for their intended power level.
Rebuilding these units is a pretty straight forward operation. We use an improved seal design that offers a better seal and longer life than the OEM units (this reduces any tailpipe oil smoke under a load to almost zero) and offers the ability to run the turbocharger harder under a load for longer periods without a threat of harming the oil seals.

The K16 has a few different versions and has employed different housings over the years.
The K16/K24 hybrid for example is a 52.5mm/68mm Compression impeller.
But most of the K16 versions use the 47.5mm/65.94mm or the 40.5mm/60.5mm version impellers.
But don't worry, we have RAZOR impellers available for all these sizes.
Once again we have improved the design of the impeller over the OEM impeller and employed shapes we have developed for our racing turbocharger impellers for use in the RAZOR for the K16.
These new shapes and improved material design decrease spool up time and offers more power potential with less heat developed at the same or higher boost levels.

From 1993-1998 Porsche used the K27 on the 911/930/964/965 model Porsches.
Its also a popular retrofit for Porsche 911s going back as far as 1978.
Rebuilding these units is a pretty straight forward operation. The K27 employs a 52.40/76.00mm Compressor impeller. A pretty large size for an under 4 liter engine (so lag is pretty obvious), so stepping up to our RAZOR billet impeller is a great move while you are getting the unit rebuilt.
Once again we have improved the design of the impeller over the OEM impeller and employed shapes we have developed for our racing turbocharger impellers for use in the RAZOR for the K27.

These Turbochargers were excellent in design but under hard use would develop oil seal issues.During the rebuild process we upgrade them internally to a triple oil bypass design to really improve their ability to operate under hard use and reliability/longevity in operation.Rebuild yours for only $280.00The K04 employs a 43.30/56.08 Compressor impeller. The original design is better in spool time over previous models but our RAZOR impeller takes it to a whole new level.
Our improved tip height and shape (similar to what is used on our Race only impellers) really offers instant response to throttle movement and a sound that lets everyone know under boost... you aren't messing around. We really love the sound of this impeller and its performance in the K04 housing.

From 1996-2005 Porsche used the K24 on the 911 GT2 and X50 Porsches. This offered big power gains over the smaller K14/K16 Turbos and this was done by employing the larger housing of the K24 design turbocharger.
Although the K24 showed an increase in power, lag was inherent due to the larger housing and obvious to everyone that owns one.
But don't worry, we have the fix. If you want to reduce the lag inherent in this design check out our RAZOR impeller.

All Turbochargers are Inspected for alignment, shafts are inspected for wear and run out. Housings are inspected for cracks and surfaces are trued (on our own In House CNC Machines) if required.
Proper seals meeting or exceeding OEM specifications are installed. Proper seal fitment is tested and verified.
The turbocharger is Dual Plane balanced.
After it passes Quality Control inspection, the Turbocharger is stamped with a Serial number that identifies its final specifications and all the parts installed in the rebuild and upgrade (if performed) are recorded to its history file.

Don’t get fooled by those cheap billet impellers you see online, we bought them and were disappointed. In our own test vehicle, not a single one made more power than a stock cast impeller. Most spooled up slower and in one case we lost 3 lbs of boost compared to a stock impeller!
